Rich Monahan writes for television and other such things. His writing has appeared in publications such as The New York Times, Vice, McSweeney's, Esquire International, and Grantland. In 2022, he joined the writing staff of Yellowjackets.
As a storyteller, Rich has won The Moth GrandSLAM Championship, and co-hosted a live comedy storytelling show in Los Angeles called That Reminds Me.
Rich got his start shooting stuff with friends back in high school, and — upon discovering that making stuff with people you like is, in fact, the funnest thing on earth — just sort of did variations on that forever. Rich worked for Martha Stewart right after college, then spent a few years producing and developing content at MTV. Most recently, he and his partner handmade Blueberry Bears, a sweet and surprisingly batshit animated short written by (and/or technically dictated by) their nearly 3-year-old nephew.
Rich lives in Los Angeles with his partner and their two cats, Kitty Parade & Bongo, who are the fucking best.
